Customers eager to try McDonald’s newest “Famous Order” featuring the popular Korean group BTS can do so wearing a McDonald’s-BTS bathrobe.
The burger giant plans to start selling a line of merchandise on the Weverse Shop app starting at 7 p.m. EST this evening. The line will include hoodies, a purple bathrobe, socks and sandals.
McDonald’s also revealed its new ad featuring BTS and the group's song “Butter,” which recently broke the record for the number of streams on a single day on the app Spotify as well as YouTube. McDonald’s plans to debut the ad this morning on its own YouTube channel. The ad will make its debut on television Wednesday night.
The order features a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, medium Fries, medium Coke and Sweet Chili and Cajun dipping sauces inspired by recipes from McDonald’s South Korea. The order is now available at McDonald’s U.S. restaurants.
The company also promised weekly “never-before-seen digital surprises” featuring the band and viewable exclusively on the McDonald’s app in the U.S.
The anticipation for the partnership with BTS “has been incredible,” Morgan Flatley, chief marketing and digital customer experience for McDonald’s USA, said in a statement. “And the best part is, we are just getting started.”
The BTS Meal is McDonald’s latest Famous Orders campaign—one that started successfully last year featuring Travis Scott. This one is worldwide, in 50 markets.
The latest meal comes as the company’s U.S. sales have been strong—same-store sales were up 13.5% on a two-year basis in the first three months of the year.
