Wendy’s square burgers are collaborating with a sponge with square pants.
Wendy’s on Wednesday confirmed social media rumors, announcing a partnership with the Nickelodeon program SpongeBob SquarePants on a “Krabby Patty Kollab” menu starting next Tuesday.
The menu will feature Wendy’s take on the Krabby Patty—the signature menu item served at The Krusty Krab, where SpongeBob is a fry cook. Wendy’s Krabby Patty Kollab Burger will feature a quarter pound of beef, two slices of American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion and a “top-secret” Krabby Kollab sauce on a toasted bun.
The company will also feature a Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty featuring a Vanilla Frosty with a pineapple mango flavored puree swirl. Wendy’s says that will be a first-of-its-kind flavor innovation.
“It makes sense that two of the most iconic squares in pop culture are teaming up to bring a taste of this unique, limited-time experience to life for fans of all ages,” Lindsay Radkoski, U.S. chief marketing officer for Wendy’s, said in a statement.
The Krabby Patty Kollab Meal will be available in Los Angeles on Monday and Tuesday through an immersive Wendy’s drive-thru experience in Panorama City. The items will be available in stores nationwide on Tuesday.
Wendy’s is offering the meal as a collaboration with Nickelodeon and its owner Paramount to celebrate the cartoon program’s 25th anniversary. “Wendy’s pulse on pop culture and connection to fans makes this collaboration a perfect match for paramount,” Dario Spina, CMO of Paramount Brand Studio, said in a statement.
