Newk’s Eatery names Alan Wright CMO

Newk’s Eatery has promoted Alan Wright to chief marketing officer, the fast-casual company announced Thursday.

Wright, who has been with the Newk’s brand since March 2013, most recently served as its vice president of marketing and franchise operations. As CMO, he will spearhead the marketing strategy for company-owned restaurants and for system-wide efforts across franchise territories in an effort to drive menu innovation, grow consumer loyalty and strengthen the brand’s presence in current and potential markets, the company said.

“Alan’s strategic eye and seasoned management have been essential to the strengthening and increased visibility of the Newk’s brand in recent years, along with our accelerated operational growth,” said Newk’s Eatery CEO Chris Newcomb. “In his new role, Alan will continue this brand momentum and provide critical vision for Newk’s future marketing initiatives.”

Prior to joining Newk’s, Wright held marketing leadership positions with Hardee’s and The Krystal Company.
