Next Day Gourmet Cooks Up Average Order Size

PETALUMA, CA (July 8, 2010 - Marketwire)—MarketLive, Inc., the leading eCommerce software and service provider for midsized specialty retailers, today announced that Next Day Gourmet, a division of US Foodservice, has launched two B2B sites on the MarketLive® Intelligent Commerce platform to differentiate and strengthen its individual brands.

The new sites include Superior Products and US Foodservice Equipment and Supplies . Since launch, average order size on Superprod.com, which includes an integrated guided-navigation search tool, has increased 26%.

"The MarketLive platform is flexible and robust, and was pivotal in our ability to create two unique sites that fit the needs of our customers and complement our strong catalog business," said Jason Gross, Web Marketing Manager for Next Day Gourmet. "In addition to effectively differentiating our brands, the new sites have already been a success in terms of increasing the average order size and enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty."

The Superior Products site allows customers to learn about and buy products directly from Next Day Gourmet. The US Foodservice site is a new tool for their customers to use when finding and researching products and placing orders through their sales representatives. The site offers detailed information like product image zoom, helping customers make informed decisions and find the right products when browsing the company's catalog of over 11,000 choices.

The Superior Products site replaced an eCommerce site that was developed in-house. The addition of a powerful, guided-navigation search application helps make it fast and easy for customers to find what they need. "MarketLive worked closely with our team to fully incorporate the guided-navigation application into the MarketLive platform," said Gross. "MarketLive's strategic knowledge and eCommerce experience were key factors in making the integration a success."

Future plans for Next Day Gourmet include upgrading to MarketLive's multisite capabilities. This will allow the company to more easily administer and update both sites with fewer resources. The company also plans to enhance the US Foodservice site with additional eCommerce capabilities as soon as the company's business processes are changed to support the online sales channel.

"Next Day Gourmet has a unique set of needs across two different sales processes," said Mark Pierce, CEO of MarketLive. "Our platform and expertise allow us to customize each site to meet the specific needs of the retailer, and the markets it serves. We are pleased with the new Next Day Gourmet sites and excited to participate in the company's long-term success and growth."
