Noodles & Company has introduced a customizable kids’ menu targeting the world’s “future foodies,” allowing diners age 10 and under to choose an entree, two sides and a drink to create their own meal combinations, the fast-casual company said Wednesday.
Entree options include macaroni and cheese, spaghetti and meatballs and grilled chicken with marinara dipping sauce, while a selection of fruits and vegetables and a “Kids Crispy”—a variation on the Rice Krispies treat—are offered as sides.
Providing further opportunity for customization, young customers can add a protein or vegetables to any entree for an add-on fee.
The meals, which were developed in partnership with the National Restaurant Association’s Kids LiveWell program, range from 140 calories to 540 calories without drinks.
The debut of this menu, the company’s first-ever targeted at kids, coincides with Noodles & Company’s announcement of a partnership with No Kid Hungry. For every kids meal purchased through Sept. 29, 2016, the company said it will donate 5 cents to the non-profit organization, with the goal of providing funding for 1 million meals.
"Beyond creating a menu tailored to our younger food lovers, we are excited to also announce our partnership with No Kid Hungry, encouraging kids to help other kids in their communities. Together, we will strive to provide 1 million meals to children who need them the most," CMO Mark Mears said. "We hope this new Kids Meal menu will not only nourish kids' bodies, but also help bring the family closer together while inspiring kids to make a difference."
