Novation healthcare GPO taps Alliant Foodservice to participate in its e-commerce marketplace

JULY 23, 2001?Alliant Foodservice, Inc., Deerfield, IL, a subsidiary of Alliant Exchange, Inc., has agreed to participate in Marketplace@Novation, the e-commerce vehicle of Novation, Irving, Texas, the group purchasing organization (GPO) formed by VHA and UHC, two national healthcare alliances serving more than 2,300 members and affiliate organizations. Novation also serves more than 5,400 members of HealthCare Purchasing Partners International (HPPI), another GPO owned by VHA and UHC.

The agreement with Alliant represents the first major distributor of food products and related services to join Marketplace@Novation. The national broadliner, with more than $6 billion in annual sales, will accept and process orders from healthcare operators conducting transactions through Marketplace@Novation, via its AlliantLink.com web-based ordering system.
