Clean Restrooms Make a Positive Impression

All the efforts that operators put into creating an appealing menu and designing a great foodservice environment can go down the drain if they neglect the cleanliness of their facilities.

Nearly nine in 10 consumers list cleanliness as a top priority when selecting a restaurant, whether it’s the restaurant interior, the kitchen, the tableware, or the bathroom, according to Technomic Ignite Consumer data from 2024.

That includes 85% of all customers who say a clean bathroom is either important or very important when selecting a full-service restaurant, and 83% who say a clean bathroom is either important or very important when selecting a limited-service restaurant. Similar ratios were identified for the importance of cleanliness in each of the other areas of the restaurant.

Research from cleaning products and solutions provider Cintas found similar results: 95% of restaurant visitors say they will avoid an establishment in the future if they found the restroom to be dirty. The research also found that 70% of visitors rank a clean restroom as being extremely important, and 75% of restaurant users would avoid going to a business that has a poorly stocked restroom.

Maintaining clean, well-stocked restrooms is especially important because customers may perceive restroom conditions as a reflection of a restaurant’s overall attitude toward sanitation. A poorly maintained restroom might signal a poorly maintained kitchen in the minds of these customers.

Cintas offers solutions that help operators keep their restrooms in top condition to make the best impression possible on customers. The company offers a variety of restroom products including soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and air care, along with regular service to keep the dispensers of these items stocked. Operators can select among multiple product programs, featuring items in a variety of styles and colors.

Operators also save time and money when they trust Cintas to provide these products and replenishment services, which can be scheduled to suit each individual operator’s needs.

In addition, Cintas Ultraclean Restroom Cleaning service provides regular, extensive deep cleaning that pressure-washes and sanitizes hard surfaces, removing build-up in areas that are difficult to reach with a mop or brush. It uses a patented solution that removes bacteria and soil from urinals, toilets, sinks, and floors, and then leaves the entire restroom clean and dry

This not only eliminates the need for a restaurant staff to tackle the difficult task of deep cleaning the restrooms, but it also makes daily cleaning easier and more efficient.
