Make outdoor dining a hit, even post-pandemic

As COVID-19 restrictions loosen and restaurant life goes back to some semblance of normalcy, some operators might be considering what to do with any outdoor dining setups they implemented during the pandemic. While there may be some inclination to shutter any makeshift patio space, the truth is many consumers will still feel more comfortable dining outdoors rather than inside—and beyond comfort, the opportunity to dine outside is perfect for creating a fun setting for group gatherings.  Check out these ways to increase the appeal of outdoor dining in a post-pandemic world.

Manage climate control where possible

One of the reasons why some guests might choose to dine indoors instead of out is because of heat or sun. During the summertime when temperatures soar and the sun can lead to sunburn in mere minutes, outdoor dining might not be ideal for some diners. While some guests may be ready and willing to get back to restaurant dining, some may not be quite ready to head back to sports stadiums, and that’s where outdoor dining comes in.
