Danny Meyer, CEO of the multi-concept group, announced Thursday that everyone inside USHG’s New York City and Washington, D.C., full-service restaurants must present proof of receiving a full round of COVID inoculations.

Not content to rest on their laurels, Alice Waters, Wolfgang Puck, Jose Andres, David Burke and other celeb chefs are launching one or more restaurants post-pandemic.

The fast-growing wing chain plans to open 25 company-owned restaurants and ghost kitchens in the heart of New York City “as fast as we can,” its CEO said.

Wingstop declined to break down the financials on its new virtual concept Wednesday but said its thigh-focused brand is succeeding at helping the chain battle high wing prices.

Its recommendation applies to the vaccinated as well as those who've opted not to be inoculated.

Mayor de Blasio says proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test should be “seriously considered” as a requirement for dining onsite. In the meantime, he’s urging restaurants to adopt a mandate voluntarily.

The food technology platform offers a database of 800-plus local independent restaurants.

These days, restaurants need all the help they can get and savvy operators turn to trusted partners for assistance in times of need.

The move by the SF Bar Owner Alliance is in response to a “recent uptick in cases of COVID-19 among our staff members, especially those who are fully vaccinated,” the group said.
