RICHMOND, VA (September 13, 2012)—Performance Food Group, Inc. announced the promotion of Kent Berke to Senior Vice President, Business Development for PFG. He continues to report to George Holm, President & CEO.
Berke is now responsible for strategically developing and sourcing growth opportunities for all business segments through acquisitions that are aligned with PFG’s growth strategies. He will identify and evaluate acquisition candidates, as well as oversee the transaction and integration process for all acquisitions.
His real estate responsibilities include working with all business segments to optimize and expand PFG’s distribution capacity to meet the growing demands of the company’s increasing customer base. He will evaluate and source new facilities, facility expansions and relocations that strengthen PFG’s distribution network to better serve customers.
Berke joined Vistar Corporation, a predecessor PFG company, in 2002 and served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel before being named Vice President – Real Estate, Mergers & Acquisitions and Risk Management for PFG in 2008. Prior to joining Vistar, he was Assistant Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Sysco Corporation, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions from 1989 to 2002.
Berke received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Michigan and a juris doctor degree from the University of Texas. He served on the International Foodservice Distributors Associations’ board of directors from 2005 to 2008.
He will maintain offices in both Centennial, Colo., and Richmond, Va.
