Pizza Hut says it’s now ‘Now’

In what Pizza Hut calls the most significant change in its history, the Yum! Brands holding will adopt a new menu on Wednesday that doubles the array of toppings to include such options as banana peppers, fresh spinach and premium salami.

With the new bill of fare, dubbed the Flavor of Now by the chain, Customers can also choose such crust varieties as Honey Sriracha, Salted Pretzel and Ginger Boom Boom.

Also available will be five varieties of a new Skinny Slice Pizza promising no more than 250 calories per slice.

In addition to the menu changes, Pizza Hut is adopting mobile ordering and payment capabilities; new crew uniforms; and a new logo.

“Our newest changes are the most significant we've made in our history as we once again look to take the entire category to another level," said David Gibbs, Pizza Hut’s new CEO. "We are radically reinventing the pizza category with a menu transformation that more than doubles our amount of ingredients and flavors, a world-class digital ordering experience and an entirely new look and feel to our brand.”

Pizza Hut has been the weakest performer among Yum’s domestic brands, which also include Taco Bell and KFC. U.S. same-stores sales declined 2 percent year-over-year during the third quarter.
