Spice up your traditional steak sandwich with this Whitsons Culinary Group recipe. Featuring toppings such as Monterery jack cheese, jalapenos and onions, this sandwich caters to those who enjoy an extra spice in their sandwich.
10 lb. flank steak
1 tbsp. garlic
1 cup oil
½ tsp. black pepper
1 tbsp. onion
1 tbsp. kosher salt
½ cup fresh thyme
20 slices Monterey jack cheese
8 oz. jalapeno peppers
1 tbsp. chopped parsley
1 finely diced tomato
10 Portuguese rolls
- Sliced flank steak into 8-ounce portions. Combine all ingredients for marinade and mix in flank steak. Let sit under refrigeration for 8 hours.
- Mix jalapenos, diced tomato and parsley, and set aside.
- Grill steak and top with Monterey jack cheese.
- Place meat and cheese in soft Portuguese roll. Top with 1 ounce of jalapeño and tomato mixture.
