The retro brand is the second company this week to anoint a president-level executive to foster more licensing business as well as traditional brick-and-mortar expansion.

Customers in the millennial set are, in many ways, “ideal adult beverage consumers,” says Donna Hood Crecca, senior director at Technomic.

And a high proportion don’t even perceive the danger, according to the survey.

More than half of the restaurant industry’s $491 billion in sales come from the Top 500 chains. And these giants grew at a modestly stronger rate, both in terms of sales and store counts, than the industry overall. Overall, the varied menu category is flat, up .3% in sales to $23.9 billion and .5% in units to 7,792.
