Sequeira-Munoz Named Food Safety Director at Pro*Act Specialties



{mosimage}Sequeira-Munoz, a Ph.D.-level food scientist with a background in food microbiology, food chemistry, HACCP, GMP, and SSOP, comes to Pro*Act Specialties from Red Bull North America where he held the position of quality assurance manager. Previous to his association with Red Bull, Sequeira-Munoz was employed by American Sanitation Institute (ASI) Food Safety Consultants, where he held positions of increasing responsibility, culminating with his post as director of research and development. He is active in industry organizations and currently holds a position on the Advisory Committee at ASI as well as the editorial board for Food Quality Magazine.

Dean Simon, president of Pro*Act Specialties, stated, "Food Safety has always been one of our top priorities at Pro*Act Specialties. Our operations are certified ASI Superior and we take pride in the effectiveness of our HACCP programs. Amaral will be charged with taking those programs to the next level including monitoring the entire supply chain from farm to the end user. He has a strong background in food borne illnesses, food safety, security and bioterrorism. He is fluent in Spanish, English, and French which was also highly desirable given that we source a wide variety of produce internationally. We are very pleased to have him on board."
