
Buyers Edge, the highly acquisitive procurement and tech platform for restaurants, plans to add another company to its roster.
It said Wednesday that it has a deal to acquire Dinova, a service that connects restaurants with corporate dining clients.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. It’s expected to close in the fourth quarter and would be Buyers Edge’s third acquisition this year. The Massachusetts-based company has made dozens of acquisitions over the years.
Buyers Edge said Dinova would add to its host of services for restaurants, which include a group purchasing organization, supply chain management and back office software. Its goal is to leverage its network of restaurants and distributors to help operators save money on supplies.
Dinova will slot into its rewards division, which features a service that helps restaurants get rebates and other savings from suppliers.
With Dinova, restaurants that use Buyers Edge will get access to business diners through the company’s network of corporate clients.
In exchange for driving in those high-value customers, Dinova charges restaurants a fee that it then returns to the corporations as a rebate. Diners also get rewards when they visit in-network restaurants.
“Dinova has built something truly unique in the restaurant industry—a program that helps restaurants capture highly profitable business dining spend while rewarding corporations and diners in the process,” said Buyers Edge CEO John Davie in a statement.
He said that Buyers Edge will be able to accelerate Dinova’s growth with its large network and technology, including AI.
Dinova CEO Alison Quinn said the Georgia-based company is excited to join Buyers Edge.
“This acquisition empowers us to deliver the ultimate solution for corporations and the restaurants that serve their employees,” she said in a statement. “Together, we expect to scale faster, reach new markets, and create unprecedented value in the business dining segment.”
According to Dinova’s latest research report, business dining has been outpacing consumer dining this year. Both segments grew sales 5.6% in 2024, but business dining was up 3.6% in January while consumer dining slumped 1%.
