Red Lobster debuts mobile loyalty program

Red Lobster has launched its new app-based loyalty program.

The My Red Lobster Rewards program is the chain’s first mobile app. It allows guests to earn points that can redeemed for rewards. For every dollar spent, guests will earn a point. Once members earn 125 points, they get to choose one of three rewards.

Guests can obtain points by scanning the QR card on their receipt and are able to redeem their reward by showing their reward screen to their server before paying. The app also allows guests to put their names on the waitlist at their local Red Lobster restaurant, and the chain says it’s planning on adding a to-go order feature to the app.

To celebrate the launch, guests will receive 75 free points if they sign up for free on the app.

The app’s launch comes just after Red Lobster’s first foray into delivery.

Key takeaways from the recent round of restaurant company earnings

The Bottom Line: Full-service restaurant chains are winning, slightly, in a weak overall market. Brands are rethinking unit count, focusing on service and pushing a lot of value.
