Higgins has more than 20 years' experience in the foodservice industry. Most recently, he worked at Thomas and Howard Co., where he held the position of vice president sales. Tom formerly held training and management positions at US Foodservice and PYA/Monarch. Tom holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia.
In his position, Higgins will be responsible for marketing, selling and conducting training seminars to educate UniPro member staff and their customers. He will plan sessions and courses included in the UniPro University curriculum guide with the objective of increasing member profitability and operating efficiency.
Higgins will report to Rick Collins, departmental vice president training, and will work offsite from his residence in South Carolina.
At the same time, UniPro announced that John Adams transferred from Creative Services to the Information Technology Department, effective Jan. 9. Adams will hold the position of webmaster and will report directly to Tres Alexander, chief information officer.
He will be responsible for providing technical and editing support for the UniPro Foodservice Extranet and Intranet websites by working to help develop an advanced website design, while maintaining cross-platform, cross-browser compatibility.
