Restaurants around the state are getting ready for Valentine’s Day — but their preparations might be halted by more snow.
Many are hoping to make up some of the revenue that was lost during the recent snowstorms, especially because Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday this year.
But this winter has not treated restaurants equally and workers are getting frustrated.
Camile’s on Federal Hill is gearing up for what General Manager Michael Degnan figures could be the busiest day the restaurant has seen.
“In the past ten days I’ve refused 2,000 reservations,” he said.
But what happens when the busiest night and a winter storm align?
So far, Degnan said the reservations are holding steady but he wouldn’t be surprised if guests cancel on Saturday.
“I think it’s going to be that afternoon. But we do have a backup list for individuals who weren’t able to get a reservation,” he added.
The restaurant has limited room on Friday, as they will be rolling out a special weekend menu of favorites and specials.
