Wrightway and Fruit Distributors Merge Operations

RICHMOND, VA -- Wrightway Foodservice and Fruit Distributors announced today the merging of both companies into what will now simply be Wrightway Foodservice, reported Progressive Group Alliance here, the marketing group to which they belong.

Wrightway was founded in 1960 and has distributed the Pocahontas brand for over seven years, while Fruit Distributors has carried the Lil' Brave brand since 1972. The two former competitors are located just miles apart in Lima, Ohio, and together they have more than 130 years of service to restaurants, schools, hospitals and other foodservice operations.

The blending of these two established companies is expected to increase their range of distribution, improve buying power and expand the mix of products offered. The exceptional customer service for which the two companies are well known will continue with the new organization.

The new Wrightway Foodservice will continue to be a Pocahontas Foods USA Distributor, the group said.
