Pizza Hut aims for competitive edge with hotter pizza

Pizza Hut

Aiming for another way to one-up its competitors, Pizza Hut says its pizzas will now arrive "up to 15 degrees hotter" thanks to a new insulated delivery system.

"What consumers want more than anything else is a hot pizza, which is why we couldn't be more excited about the system we have developed to make sure we serve a hot, crispy and craveable Pizza Hut pizza every time," Zipporah Allen, the chain’s vice president of marketing, said in a statement.

To celebrate its updated system, the chain has also developed a “Pizza Parka,” a coat crafted out of the same materials found in its new delivery pouch. The coat offers such features as a “marinara splash guard” and pockets where customers can store the popular pizza toppings of Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes.

Pizza Hut customers who order a pizza online or via the chain’s app through the month of October will be entered to win a Pizza Parka.
