Amanda Clark, who helped boost Papa Johns’ presence in both the U.S. and internationally, is leaving the company to take a CEO role at an unnamed “franchise company,” Papa Johns said in a release on Monday.

Clark joined Papa Johns in 2020 as its chief development officer. She was given leadership of its international business two years later and then was named chief operating officer of international. She helped lead to the development of another 700 locations and signed some key deals, notably one for 1,500 units in China.

It’s not certain what company she is leaving Papa Johns for.

Rob Lynch, Papa Johns' CEO, said in a statement that the pizza chain has “created a culture … where we cultivate top talent and help them achieve their full potential.”

He also said that the company has “a strong international leadership team in place and talent within that organization who will continue to deliver on our business priorities.” But he said the company would conduct a search for Clark’s replacement.
