Taco Bell is partnering with Lyft to allow customers to grab late-night tacos while using the car ride service.
A function of the Lyft app, Taco Mode, enables users to request a stop at a Taco Bell drive-thru on the way to their final destination. The service will be offered only between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m., and initially only in Orange County, Calif., where Taco Bell is based.
To kick off the arrangement, users will be picked up in a taco-themed car and will be able to order off a custom in-car menu. Customers will also receive Taco Bell swag and a free Doritos Locos Taco.
The chain will debut the service in the next two weeks, with plans to expand Taco Mode to additional cities by the end of the year and roll out the program nationwide in 2018.
