There's been a lot of buzz about ghost kitchens recently, but how do these places actually work? In August, Restaurant Business visited a Chicago ghost kitchen facility to find out.

Kitchen United is one of the leading ghost kitchen providers in the U.S., with four locations housing about 65 restaurants and more facilities planned. The company rents scaled-down kitchens to restaurants that use the space to prep orders for delivery, takeout and catering.
