Chipotle TV ad celebrates ‘The 88 Club’ to kick off Dallas-Tampa Bay game

The burrito chain will introduce LTOs for the menu highlighting Dallas Cowboys' wide receivers who wore the number 88.

Chipotle Mexican Grill is kicking off football season with a new TV ad that features a bonding session for those who wear or have worn, the number 88 on their jersey.

Scheduled to air Sunday during the Dallas v. Tampa Bay game, the TV ad will also promote new limited-time menu items associated with the players in what Chipotle calls “The 88 Club.”

It’s the first time the players met in person, Chipotle officials said.

The current No. 88 is CeeDee Lamb, a Chipotle Superfan and Dallas Cowboys wide receiver. His bowl at Chipotle features white rice, half chicken/half steak, tomato salsa, extra cheese and queso blanco.

Others in the club include Hall of Famer Michael Irvin (brown rice, black beans, chicken, tomato salsa, cheese, lettuce, queso blanco and guacamole on the side), who was also a wide receiver for the Cowboys and was drafted in 1988.

Dez Bryant (white rice, black beans, chicken, salsa and cheese) was No. 88 three times, for the New Orleans Saints, Baltimore Ravens and the Dallas Cowboys.

And Drew Pearson (tacos with steak, lettuce and cheese) was the original 88 and helped bring the Cowboys a Super Bowl win in 1977.
