Podcast: How MAPCO Adjusts to Change During Times of Transition

Damian Wyatt, director of merchandise sales and category management at MAPCO Express, Franklin, Tennessee, talks about how he keeps his team feeling safe and motivated, with an eye on growth, amidst great transition

When Majors Management LLC completed its transaction with Compañía de Petróleos de Chile S.A. (COPEC) for the acquisition of 192 MAPCO-branded convenience stores in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Arkansas and Kentucky, at the end of last year, it represented yet another transition from one owner to another. For some, it might have felt like an insurmountable amount of change. But for Damian Wyatt and team, it became another opportunity.

In this episode of At Your Convenience, we discuss the ways in which he helped make his team feel safe, motivated and inspired. And he talks to us about what’s next on the horizon for the dynamic convenience-store retailer.

  • Majors Management is No. 118 on CSP’s 2023 Top 202 list of convenience-store chains by store count. MAPCO is No. 27
