BURLINGTON, Mass., and PLANO, Texas —Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) is recognizing National Hospital Week, which runs May 10-16, by encouraging consumers to express their thanks for healthcare workers on social media.

The beverage company will provide a cup of coffee to a hospital worker—up to 1 million cups total—every time a post of gratitude includes the hashtag #FuelingtheFrontline. The campaign was announced in a video across the Keurig, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters and Laughing Man social media channels.

The program is part of the Burlington, Mass., and Plano, Texas-based company’s Fueling the Frontline initiative, through which Keurig brewers and coffee have been donated to thousands of break rooms in more than 350 hospitals across the country since the COVID-19 crisis began.

"We are proud to support the healthcare community tirelessly working on the front line of this pandemic to care for those in need," KDP Chairman and CEO Bob Gamgort said. “This campaign provides an opportunity to share our gratitude for their courage and sacrifice. We are honored to donate coffee and beverages, giving these brave medical workers a moment to relax and recharge before heading back into the fight.”

In addition, KDP is recognizing its own front-line employees and gave its office employees the chance to gift a Keurig brewer and coffee to an essential worker of their choosing. The company also donated $250,000 to the National Restaurant Association's Employee Relief Fund to provide cash grands to U.S. restaurant workers financially affected by the coronavirus. It also donated 5,000 meals to the Together Without Hunger campaign.
