MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn.-- Restaurant Technologies has provided more than 1,500 grocery and convenience stores with its Total Oil Management solution since the beginning of 2018. Now servicing more than 27,000 U.S. foodservice locations, the company is expanding into retail with a greater emphasis on c-stores.
This year the company began working with c-store chains including Alimentation Couche-Tard’s Circle K, Laval, Quebec; Jiffy Trip, Enid, Okla.; and Corner Market, Greenville, S.C. Restaurant Technologies’ new grocery clients include Kroger, Cincinnati; Mariano’s, Rosemont, Ill.; Piggly Wiggly, Keene, N.H.; Weis Markets, Sunbury, Pa.; and Stater Bros., San Bernardino, Calif.
The system helps operators manage their hazardous oil disposal processes. By installing two tanks—one for bulk fresh oil and the other for used—and connecting them to the Total Oil Management equipment, retailers can automate oil filtration. Restaurant Technologies then delivers fresh cooking oil via a lockable outdoor fill box and picks up the dirty oil, converting it into biodiesel.
“Helping retailers in the grocery and convenience store space has been an increased focused for us at Restaurant Technologies, and our rapid growth in 2018 is demonstrative of our ability to deliver effective oil management solutions to these growing segments,” said Jim English, director of national accounts for Restaurant Technologies, Mendota Heights, Minn. “As consumers continue to demand hot, prepared foods more quickly and conveniently, they’re looking outside of traditional restaurants to meet those needs. Having a process in place to run kitchens as efficiently and safely as traditional restaurant kitchens is increasingly important for grocers and c-store operators.”
