IRVING, Texas — 7-Eleven Inc. has launched ready-to-bake, take-home versions of its popular food items to increase foodservice occasions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ready-to-bake items include cheese and pepperoni pizzas, chicken tenders, Buffalo and spicy bone-in wings, breaded boneless wings and Monterrey Jack chicken taquitos. The pizzas are baked at 325 degrees Fahrenheit and take 20 minutes to prepare, while the tenders, wings and taquitos are baked at 450 degrees and are ready in about 25 minutes. Each item comes with cooking instructions and prep times on its packaging.

"Before the pandemic, customers were out and on-the-go, grabbing breakfast on the way to work, buying lunch while running errands or indulging in an after-school Slurpee treat," said Robin Murphy, senior director of fresh foods for 7-Eleven. "That has all changed and people are home and eating together as families. We can give them the convenience of picking up a couple of pizzas and wings to prepare when they are ready to enjoy them."

This continues 7-Eleven’s recent foodservice initiatives amid the pandemic. In April, 7-Eleven launched pizza and alcohol delivery specials as a means to boost sales during COVID-19. Less than a week later, the company joined with national delivery platforms Postmates and DoorDash, in addition to offering its proprietary 7Now delivery app, to make delivery from 7-Eleven stores available to more areas.

Irving, Texas-based 7-Eleven operates, franchises or licenses more than 70,000 c-stores in 17 countries, including more than 9,300 in the United States. 7-Eleven is No. 1 on the Top 40 update to CSP's 2019 Top 202 ranking of U.S. c-store chains by number of retail outlets. CSP will release the complete 2020 list in June.
