WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. Danone North America has voluntarily recalled more than 3,500 cases of its Light & Fit Greek Crunch Nonfat Yogurt & Toppings S'Mores flavor due to a labeling issue.

The recall was initiated after peanuts were found in the product’s topper, the lid that often holds various nuts and other crunchy additions. Light & Fit Crunch Nonfat Yogurt & Toppings S’Mores were sold in single 5-ounce cups and had an expiration date of Dec. 30, 2018.

This isn’t the first yogurt recall that has affected convenience stores this year. In November, Kwik Trip Inc. issued a recall of its 8.25-ounce Kitchen Cravings Strawberry and Mixed Berry Parfaits. The La Crosse, Wis.-based convenience-store retailer withdrew the items after an outside supplier discovered an undeclared chocolate-covered nut in the granola mix.

Danone North America distributed the yogurt to customers in 13 U.S. states: Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin.

People who have a peanut allergy will risk contracting a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume this product, according to the company. Danone urges consumers who have purchased the yogurt and have a peanut allergy to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

White Plains, N.Y.-based Danone North America is a leading yogurt manufacturer. Besides Light & Fit, its brands include Activia, Oikos and Danimals. The company is a subsidiary of Paris-based multinational food corporation Danone.
