2. Functional furniture
Director of Food Services Christine Kearney says that the team had to work to find furniture that balanced the needs of both the students and the space itself. “A challenge was definitely getting furniture and equipment that was modern and had this appeal that students wanted, but that was also functional, durable and easy to maintain,” she says.
Working with the district’s buildings and grounds department, the cafeteria team outfitted the bistro with furniture that replicates a fast-casual environment, such as high-top tables and booth seating options.
