Ruth’s Chris to buy Hawaii units from franchisee

Ruth’s Chris is slated to acquire all six of its locations in Hawaii from their current franchise owner, Desert Island Restaurants.

“We’re delighted to welcome these outstanding restaurants and their wonderful teams into the Ruth’s Hospitality Group family and are committed to continuing their success,” said Mike O’Donnell, CEO of Ruth’s Chris parent Ruth’s Hospitality Group. “These locations truly embody the culture of hospitality, quality and service that has set us apart for more than 50 years.”

Ruth’s Chris has had a presence in Hawaii for more than two decades. The steakhouse’s most recent outpost in the state opened earlier this year.

The acquisition is expected to be complete in early 2018.
