The better-burger brand is about 75% smaller than it was 15 years ago. But it is looking to get back into the new-restaurant business.

The chain’s growth surged outside the U.S. last year as it works to become a more global brand like its sister companies.

Chippy, made by Miso Robotics, uses artificial intelligence to fry and season the fast casual’s tortilla chips so they’re craveable and don’t “lose the humanity behind our culinary experience,” the brand said.

The health-focused chain’s founder, Matthew Corrin, becomes executive chairman, while Victor Diab joins the Toronto-based brand as CFO.
