According to Technomic’s 2018 Healthy Eating Consumer Trend Report, 40% of consumers say their definitions of health have changed over the past two years. Rather than simply focusing on fat or calories, for instance, many are looking for more natural foods, foods free from artificial ingredients and more plant-based options.

The need for plant-based in restaurant kitchens

According to Technomic’s 2019 Center of the Plate: Seafood & Vegetarian Consumer Trend Report34% of consumers say they eat vegetarian or vegan dishes at least once a week. With plant-based and plant-forward diets on the rise it only makes sense that restaurant operators are making changes in the kitchen to accommodate diners’ desires.

Plant-based products that perform

Yogurt and milk are important components for an array of menu items. When diners want plant-based or dairy-free options, restaurants have to find new ways to meet their patrons’ changing needs.
