Granite City Food & Brewery has named Phil Costner CEO of the casual-dining chain. Costner will replace Rob Doran, who is retiring from the chief executive role after six years.

"Granite City Food & Brewery has significantly grown in revenue, number of restaurants, and its capabilities in recent years,” Doran said in a statement. “Building off that progress, [Costner] is the right person to lead the organization to new levels of success and growth in coming years.”

As part of his new position, Costner will also serve as CEO of Cadillac Ranch All-American Bar & Grill, a country-themed brand with five locations across the U.S.

Before coming to the Granite City this summer, Costner had served as president of Mimi’s Cafe, president and COO of the La Madeleine bakery-cafe brand and a VP at TGI Fridays.

Annual sales at 35-unit Granite City reached $127.6 million in 2015, according to Technomic, a 10% leap from the previous year.
