Seafood chain Long John Silver’s is using a summer pricing promotion as a vehicle to highlight the sustainability of its whitefish. This facet of the campaign comes in response to consumers’ desire to know more about where their food comes from, the quick-service chain’s CEO, James O'Reilly, said in a statement.
Whitefish served at Long John Silver’s is wild-caught and sourced from a U.S. fishery that has been certified as sustainable by the Maine Stewardship Council since 2005, according to the chain.
"Most of America doesn't know that Long John Silver's fish is wild-caught and sustainably sourced,” O’Reilly said, “so it's a meal our customers can feel better about enjoying.”
During the promotion, customers can purchase a one-piece Fish and Fries Combo for $1.99.
