Opening date set for popular Houston restaurant's new idea

Pappas Meat Co., the new restaurant by Pappas Restaurants Inc., has set an opening date of Oct. 23, according to the Houston Chronicle.

The restaurant, which is located at 12010 Interstate 10 East, will serve menu items such as fried green tomatoes with spicy remoulade sauce, Gulf crab cake, pan-seared tilapia, chicken fried chicken and top sirloin. The restaurant is described as a casual steakhouse with a Southern flair. Pappas Meat Co. will be open Tuesday through Sunday for dinner with plans to eventually offer lunch as well, reports the Chronicle.

Pappas Restaurants first announced the new restaurant in August. The restaurant is in the space formerly occupied by a Papas Seafood House, which closed earlier in 2014.
