Papa John’s is adding its name to the list of chains ridding antibiotics from their chicken supply.

The pizza chain announced that will switch to antibiotic-free chicken for its pizza toppings and chicken poppers by summer 2016. The chicken used will also have been fed a vegetarian diet, Papa John’s said.

"This antibiotics initiative embodies everything our brand stands for," CEO John Schnatter said in a statement. "I started this company over 31 years ago on a foundation of quality and a commitment to my customers to deliver on a promise of ‘Better Ingredients. Better Pizza.'”

While Papa John’s says it is the first national pizza chain to make this type of pledge, a number of major chains have committed to reducing or eliminating their use of meat raised with antibiotics, including Subway, McDonald’s, Chick-fil-A and Panera Bread.
