Starbucks affected by recall tied to E.coli

Starbucks is one of several retailers being affected by a recall tied to an E.coli outbreak, according to a list shared by the FDA. The epidemic, which has been tied to contaminated celery from a California farm, was first linked to chicken salad sold at Costco stores.

The tainted ingredient was potentially used in a warm turkey and stuffing sandwich sold by the coffee giant. Starbucks units in California, Oregon and Nevada were affected by the recall, the FDA says.

This outbreak is not affiliated with the E.coli epidemic recently experienced by Chipotle units across six states, which sickened 45 people and is predicted to negatively impact the Mexican chain’s Q4 sales.
