Shamrock Launches Cross-Promotional

The competition will select a chef from among Shamrock Foods’ customer base who “expertly combines Shamrock Farms products into delicious dishes while mixing fresh thinking and an easy approach,” according to a release announcing the competition.

Operators have until the end of January to submit recipes for a chance to win the $2,500 grand prize.  Recipes will be judged on the following criteria: taste (40%), appearance (20%), use of dairy product (20%), originality (10%), ease of recipe (10%).  Five finalists will compete for the Fresh Chef title and other prizes on March 19 at the Shamrock Foods Food Show at the Phoenix Convention Center.

Judges’ results will be combined with the results of online consumer voting, which will take place at www.shamrockfarms.net February 23 – March 14, 2009, with the judges score being weighted 75 percent and the online voting being weighted 25 percent, according to the company. In addition to the grand prize, Shamrock is awarding $1,500 and $1,000 to second- and third-place winners, as well as $500 to each of two honorable mentions.

All Shamrock Foods customers who enter the contest receive a certificate for free Shamrock Farms products.
