Sweetfin Poke said it recently completed a major round of funding to support plans for expansion in the coming year.

The fast-casual concept, which centers around customizable poke bowls, is slated to open at least five new locations in Southern California during 2016 and has set its sights on national growth.

Industry vet Larry Mindel, a founding partner of Il Fornaio, was tapped to join the fast casual’s advisory and investment team, Sweetfin Poke said.

Investors in this funding round included former Shake Shack CEO David Swinghamer.
