TAO Group opens Vandal in NYC

The group behind Tao Asian Bistro this weekend unveiled its latest concept, Vandal, a 360-seat bar, restaurant and lounge with a focus on international street food.

The 22,000-square-foot space, located in New York City, also showcases work from global street artists throughout its series of dining areas and “secret catacombs,” TAO Group said.

"The idea of bringing street food and street art together under one roof struck me like a bolt of lightning," TAO Group founder Rich Wolf said in a statement. "The experience of Vandal will not be just of great food, drinks, and warm hospitality but also of a love affair of [Chef Chris Santos’] extraordinary talent and world-class artists."

Santos and Vandal’s executive chef, Jonathan Kavourakis, developed the concept’s menu after sampling street food in 14 different countries, including Argentina, Italy and Singapore.
