U.S. Foodservice to Purchase Land near Austin for New DC



The purchased land will be the site of a replacement facility for its Austin, Texas distribution center, the company said. U.S. Foodservice intends to build a 260,000-sq.-ft. facility, which will be located in the Sunfield Municipal Utility District. The new distribution center will be designed for future growth and will be expandable to approximately 500,000 sq. ft. Initial employment for the new distribution center is expected to be over 200 people with eventual employment anticipated to exceed 400 individuals, the company said.
