U.S. Foodservice to Shutter Indiana North Star Unit

ROSEMONT, IL (June 25)—The Associated Press reports today that North Star Foodservice, the systems arm of U.S. Foodservice (USF), will close its Bloomington, Indiana, division in October due to the loss of a key chain account.

The facility reportedly employs some 200 workers, mostly warehouse staff and drivers. Company spokesman Kevin Hagan told the AP that the decision to close came after the Bloomington division failed to reach a new contract agreement with the chain, who he declined to identify.

Another North Star facility in Indianapolis, Indiana, will remain open.
