Don Greene Poultry Joins Pocahontas

RICHMOND, VA - Don Greene Poultry, Inc., Opa Locka, FL, joined Pocahontas Foods USA, the distributor marketing group based here announced this week.

The distributorship was founded by Don Greene in 1965 as Don Greene Provisions, Inc. as a provisions delivery operation serving local restaurants.

As the company expanded, several associated and subsidiary businesses developed. In 1981, Chick'N Portions was founded. This company produces natural and marinated boneless chicken breasts, both random and portion control. Chick'N Portions operates as a production company while Don Greene Poultry markets, inventories and delivers the product.

In 1991, Easy Chick, Inc. was formed to assist in developing retail business.

In 1996, Don Greene Poultry introduced its new logo symbolic of the company representing much more than just poultry products. As DGP Foods the company added distribution of beef, pork, lamb, and other protein items.
