HFM buys Morrad

HONOLULU - HFM FoodService here has signed an agreement to purchase Morrad Foodservice of Maui, effective April 17, according to local news reports. The latter will join
the former as an independent operating division.

Founded in 1964, HFM, an ID Top 50 broadliner, bills itself as the largest statewide foodservice wholesale distributor. It serves Hawaii, Guam and the Pacific region.

Morrad, founded in 1978, serves Maui, Lanai, Molokai, the Big Island and Kauai. HFM said it will assume overall business management for Morrad but keep the Morrad name.

The deal, Morrad President Don Zwade said, "provides the capital and overall structure in to make Morrad's vision a reality."
