Ideal Media, CIA Collaborate on Continuing Ed Project

The school, to be branded "20-Minute U," will feature continuing education content from the CIA, the world's premier culinary college.

Readers of Restaurant Business and FoodService Director will be able to learn about key emerging topics covered by the CIA including flavor exploration, menu research and development, health and wellness, and entrepreneurial leadership.

"Our psychographic readership studies indicate that foodservice operators want true professional development content, not just traditional 'how-to' stories," said Scott Allmendinger, vice president and group publisher. "This is a breakthrough in B-to-B publishing, and we are thrilled to be working with the CIA, the industry's educational leader."

"20-Minute U," so-named because of the quick-read style of the new department, will debut in the October issue of Restaurant Business. FoodService Director will begin publishing the section in a future issue.

"This leadership collaboration with Restaurant Business and FoodService Director will allow the CIA to distribute practical, actionable ideas for today's busy entrepreneur well beyond the walls of our campuses," said Mark Erickson, CIA's vice president of continuing education. "Without leaving their kitchens, chefs, managers, and even suppliers can tap into innovative CIA programming generated by our Continuing Education and Industry Solutions consulting services."
