Uber doubles down on food delivery

Ride-sharing juggernaut Uber this week shared that it’s diving deeper into food-delivery with the debut of a standalone UberEATS app.

The app, currently available in Toronto only, expands on previous iterations of UberEATS—offering food from a larger range of restaurants as well as extended delivery hours, and incorporating an Instant Delivery option that promises customers lunch delivery in as few as 10 minutes.

Uber this year introduced UberEATS as a feature of its mainstay ride-sharing app, later rolling out the option to a number of cities, including Chicago, New York City and Austin, Texas.
