Rice, Sesno, Plouffe Headline PMA Fresh Summit Speaker Lineup

Rice will focus her remarks on leadership during tumultuous times, according to a PMA news release, and provide her views on topics including international affairs, innovation, education and more during her general session luncheon presentation on Oct. 2.

“Ms. Rice is recognized as one of the most powerful and influential people in the world, and a leader and change agent in extremely difficult times,” said Frank Padilla, assistant vice president of fresh foods and general manager of produce for Costco Wholesale Corp. and chair of PMA’s 2009 Fresh Summit marketing committee. “Her insights on how to create and implement world-altering changes are certainly timely given the need and opportunities for market-altering changes in today’s economy.”

Following opening comments, Rice will be interviewed by journalist Frank Sesno, who has 30 years experience as a news anchor, White House correspondent and talk show host.

David Plouffe, campaign manager for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, is also scheduled as a general session speaker at Fresh Summit. At a breakfast on Oct. 4, Plouffe will explain how businesses can adopt the tactics of the Obama campaign to attract and engage consumers and how to breathe life into marketing campaigns.
