Sysco To Acquire Minnesota-Based Appert's Foodservice

ST. CLOUD, MN (December 12, 2012)—Sysco, the nation’s largest food service distributor, has made a deal for St. Cloud’s third-generation Appert’s Food Service, #41 in the 2011 ID Report Top 50.

Appert’s president Joe Omann confirmed Tuesday that there is a purchase agreement in place, awaiting final government approval which is expected this month.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

All 300 employees will keep their jobs, current pay and comparable benefits, Omann said.
