The Taco John’s Mexican quick-service chain has promoted Jim Creel, a 15-year veteran of the chain, to president, with day-to-day responsiblities for operations and expansion.

He succeeds Jeff Linville, who exited the company to pursue other opportunities. Linville served as CEO, having vacated the president's post when he moved up to that job in 2013.

Creel was previously vice president and CFO of the chain, which currently extends to 380 restaurants in 24 states.

He now reports directly to Taco John's board. The franchisor is privately held.

In addition to his longtime service to Taco John’s, Creel serves on the boards of 15 nonprofit civic and charity groups.
